Error Modifying Mirrored PS Members in OBD - 10.08

Before I log a call for this, but has anyone else had errors like this with mirrored PS members in OBD?

Thanks,

  • AR, as an example, when modelling stair stringers we usually model one side and then mirror for the other. Issue occurs when we need to modify the end point of the mirrored members if the stair changes, the mirrored member seems to have taken on a new rotation setting (180 deg to original placement) and when modified rotates to that setting. Very frustrating when working on large numbers of stair towers. It's a function used quite a lot and has not been an issue with the old member types.

  • Hi Sean,

So essentially you're changing the length of a mirrored PS member placed at an angle?  If so, not seeing that behavior here.

  • No mate.

As an example, I'll model the first stair stringer (channel) with '0' rotation.

I then mirror the stringer for the other side.

If I then need to extend the member, it rotates 180. All mirrored members are showing this behaviour.

Thanks for the reply as well Steve.

  • I think we're referring to the same thing. In the video below, if you remove the stair from the equation the stringer is essentially a member following the stair's slope (placed at an angle) that is mirror-copied and its length changed/extended.

If this is the general idea, perhaps it was an issue in Update 8 - I've tried Update 9 and 10 - though I haven't found anything filed.
