Hello All,
Is there a way to place fast 300 flexibles in a design file. These are flexibles connecting sprinklerheads. An I have to place this in 5 floor.
So that is 1500 flexibles. So this is a very time consuming command.
The pipe is has a slope 1:500 and the Sprinkler pipe has the same length. (TY5235)
Best regards,
Andy Parinussa
I'm no expert so can't be sure if it is supposed to work or not. Pity it doesn't because this is the exact situation that tool is meant for I imagine.
Good luck finding another way!
Maybe one thing, is the grid of these sprinklers repetitive? If so, can you manually model a section (for example 10 or 20 pieces) then copy them?
Hello Johan,
The first pre design I have done that. But when there is a lot of third parties installation like ducting, cable trays and other pipes. My sprinkler pipes had to be modified. And the sprinklerhead stay on the same place.
Oh that not so good ...
I was wondering about how Revit users would handle this and the first thing that came to mind is Dynamo. I never used it myself, but for such repetitive tasks that's what is always suggested.
There is something similar in OBD called Generative Components, though I have no idea if it is capable of such actions. Another route might be automation trough VBA if you have any programming experience. But also there, not sure if it's going to work.
I think the main challenge in automation of such a task would be how to avoid those ducting, cable trays and pipes. No matter which scripting type is going to be used and no matter which design software.
Good luck figuring out an efficient way to get this job done!
