Is there a way that you can make a composite wall look like a basic wall when you create the extraction? There have been some projects that I have worked on that Compsoite wall would be the best wall to use. Although we don't use them due to the fact that all the parts in the wall show up when we make the extraction. is there anyway we can use the composite wall but when we make the extraction the composit wall looks like it was a single wall?
we currently are using: Bentley Architectural V8 XM Version 08.09.03.37
another TWO ways that avoids tweaking is to :
highlight the slab you are copying make a selection set for ease of work copy up apply part and change height if not a part of the part definition
2nd (This is a little buggy as flooding does not always work) Flood the area with each part (this goes thu doorways and areas a slab may not go) Do over and over changing your height
I would still like to flood with an assemply or be able to change my assembly (and only if it keeps the holes, shaope, etc)

Wow... that's a blast from the past! I actually did know you could do that with slab forms, but I don't think that I'd *ever* remember. :-)
Regarding the Add/Delete Vertex and Modify Form Base tools, they seem to be working correctly in the BA 8.11.7 beta.
OK, now that composite floors do not exist (yet) let me tell you what I do (did) in V8 2004: draw your floor slab as a slab form (that is what this type is for). Then to create the next layer on top of your slab, activate the needed part an then use 'extrude shape to slab form' (construct forms tool box) because it works fine when you hit your slab instead of the shape it is asking for !! For the next layer: activate part, extrude again, it keeps topping up the pile. I wonder if any of you knew this worked. I found this out by accident...
Nevertheless, each layer has to be tweaked at the edges... and V8i (8.11.5.46) has a bug which prevents using slab forms altogether: the 'edit form base', and 'insert (or delete) vertex into base' tools won't work on them... I posted this problem some time ago. I hope it will be repaired asap.

Hey Robert - the ploblem then would be two fold.
1st - you 'd then ahve to convert files back and forth with the different type of plotting. (plotting a secton where the assembly parts are merged) and plotting a plan where you see all the components)
2nd. When you change a single assembly to a compound assembly you loose all changes to theat wall from mitered ends to changes of the wall height .
