How to merge an image attachment into master file (active file) using OBD the raster manager?

Hi,

Recently I had received a work. it's a kind of adding some images into the detailed drawings of project.

1. So, at first i tried regular copy & paste (clipboard method) from paint or snipping tool, and that didn't work at all.

2. next I tried attaching the image initially as an attachment in raster manager so later i may be able to merge the attachment into the active file like one of the option available in reference manager. Sadly, there was no option in raster manager.

3. Then I attached the image file in reference manager, and I noticed the same file also added in raster manager too automatically by identifying image elements.

It really helps me if there is method or options available in OBD to fulfill this question.

Note: i am using OBD update 7 & MicroStation update 15. And the image I use is stored in my local device folder not in project associated server folder. that why I am here.

(Surprisingly pasting from clipboard simply worked perfect in MicroStation - trying to discover how that happened but not in OBD).

Thanks, in advance.

  • Hi Nesamani,

Thanks for letting us know about this.

So, basically when you are inserting an image via pasting from clipboard in OBD update 7 it is not working, correct?

If so, can you please try to remove your "Prefs" folder from this location: C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner and then restart your OBD? After that please try to add the image in your design file via Raster Manager tool and do let us know about the outcome.

    HTH!

Thanks for yours suggestion. I tried your instruction but unfortunately it didn't work.

For additional explanation i herewith attached some screenshot of both microstation and OpenBuildings Designer, when tried the question (*subject*).

    Image-3 OBD tried above 2 method, but both of it didn't work. - - - - -
