I am using open building designer as my base program with cloudworx mdl application for viewing a point cloud in my model in OBD. I created an elevation from my model. When I go to that drawing view in OBD the point cloud is not oriented correctly with my elevation. The point cloud is in plan view in my elevation that I just created.
Hello Glenn,
Please send the dgn file if possible. Need to check at our end.
Thanks & Regards, AR
My point cloud file is to large to send through email as I am viewing it in cloudworx with the jet stream server
Hi Glenn,
Does the point cloud display properly in the 3D model in the same orientation as the drawing was created; i.e., front or side for an elevation? If so, are there any controls for how the point cloud displays?
Since the drawing itself is 2D you could also try manually referencing your 3D model into a separate 2D model (not necessarily a drawing) to check whether the point cloud still displays using a plan/top orientation. IOW, is it a 3D > 2D thing or is there something unique about the way these point clouds display within a drawing's clip volume. If the results are the same, this may be something better suited for Leica since we haven't directly supported CloudWorx since about 2014.
Yes the model displayed correctly before making the drawing view. I am using the jet stream server for the point cloud since the its a large file
Sorry for the delayed response. OK, so the point cloud displays properly in a 3D model, but not the 2D drawing, correct? If so, can you try it with a 2D design model instead? The idea is to determine whether the display issue is the result of viewing the point cloud in a 2D model vs. 3D, or if the drawing's clip volume/orientation is somehow affecting the results.
