  • You'll need to create a new *.xsd schema file with the applicable properties, then attach that to the Space Catalog Item in the DataGroup Catalog Editor.  Once you do that, the new properties should display for all space Catalog Items.

The delivered help also contains some good info on the DataGroup System.  Do a search for "Establish datagroup definitions", which should give you a more complete overview.

  • thanks steve - i tried help but could really locate a good source.  help is better if you know what question to ask and how to ask it.

     thanks.

  • one more questioin:  this one [i don't think] will be so simple to answer.  we are set up on a network.  i'm running the datagroup catalog/definitions editors from the start menu.  i realized that they were loading and editing the locally installed copies.  i tried changing the -uc flag in the shortcut properties to our network tflocal.cfg but after i change it - the editor won't run at all.  i have attached the shortcuts and the relevant cfg files.

i don't know what else you need but if you let me know - i will be sure to get it too you.

i could just use these editors and then move the changed files over to the network but that gets cumbersom after a while - not to mention the conflict possibilities...

    TIA

  • you need to do an icon target switch so that they open in the correct workspace. ie right-click the definition editor or catalogue editor icons, select target (it should read - "C:\Program Files\Bentley\Triforma\Exe\dgcatalogeditor.exe" -wc"C:\Program Files\Bentley\Triforma\config\tflocal.cfg") and append with the location of your network datagroup files ie - "C:\Program Files\Bentley\Triforma\Exe\dgcatalogeditor.exe" -wc"C:\Program Files\Bentley\Triforma\config\tflocal.cfg" -wc"F:\YM Standards\Workspace\config\YM_tflocal.cfg" this will now point your datagroup catalogue editor and definition editors to use the networked workspace.
