when I run PCS my screen will flicker back and forth from a previous screen. (for example) As I move my mouse across the screen teh immage may flicker from plan view and axos, back and forth - back and forth - and then may even stop with a combination of both or very blocky stoff.
I logged this TR back a coupleyears ago and have heard nothing but Support can't duplicate this issue.
I've had it happen on 6 different machanies. then have been from a very old xp laptop with very simple graphics to my more recent system with a very high ATI card (I've also tried several NVidia Cards) No help\\
This makes the product very difficult to use.
See a video of the issue below. Please note that camtasia was unable to pick up all of the flickering because of the framerate. It flickered about twice that much during the recording. I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Jordan
The PCS interface is based on OpenGL, so I'd imagine it comes down to your graphics card and/or drivers. I've seen cases where the screen flickers and redraws as in your avi, and others where there's little to no display issues.
For example, I just created the attached also using curtainwall01. It's just a quick test, but as you can I'm only getting some background stuff, which I didn't even notice while creating the avi.
For reference, I'm using a 128MB nVidia Quadro FX 700, so no high-end graphics here. But it is pretty stable.

Steve is basically correct however the best way of fixing this issue if you are using PCS for any length of time is to simply turn down the Graphics acceleration on you PC. Graphics acceleration is designed to help Direct X applications so PCS may not display well being an OpenGL application. Unless you are using a very early version of PCS, then PCS should ignore hardware acceleration. But it seems that some systems still override the settings within PCS
In Windows XP you can turn down acceleration from Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot tab. You should see a slider labelled "Hardware Acceleration". If you slide this to the left it reduces the amount of acceleration and in so doing reduces the amount of flicker in PCS. Experiment with how much you need to move it to the left to improve you use of PCS. You should not need to turn ot all the way off. Hopefully this will work on your system. When you are finished using PCS, turn it back up again.
