Maybe I am missing the obvious, but this question has been puzzling me for awhile now.
Described as follows: After creating a DV using the "Create Floor Plan" Tool, the DV handles appear to visually assist in the definition of the cut, back, and forward planes (nery nice). However, once the DV and Sheet Model has been created, using "Create a Building Named View ..." the edit handles disappear (logically so).
So here is the problem: I want to modify the location of the cut plane in the existing DV Floor or Ceiling Plan. The defintions appear in the Building View Manager dialog. Selecting the desired view and picking "Edit a Drawing Definition" works great to modify the Cut Volume Settings and Architecture Rules - BUT what about the absolute cut plane location? Nowhere is the cut plane (or forward/back plane) locations show. The old DEM had the Regions tab that included this editable information (very easy to use). Why is this missing in the new DV "Building View" Attributes section?
If nothing else, I would like to simply get the edit handles back again to make the modifications. If I Place a "Section Callout" in a DV Plan View, I can simply select the Section Marker with the Selector Tool and use the edit handles to modify the definition (nice). So why is this functionality missing for Floor and Ceiling Plans?
Again, maybe I am missing the obvious. But I do not see a solution in the HELP documentation either. Is this WAD? If not, is there a TR or CR?
I am using 08.11.05.52, however the SELECTseries1 Beta 08.11.07.51 is the same.
If you're referring to saved BVs in the BVM, you'll need to open the Saved Views dialog and check ON the "Show" column for that BV. This should display the original cut plane rectangle (the picture frame) which can be selected to display the section cut arrow and clip volume extents.
I'd like the "SAVED VIEW" check for showing the cuts to be added to the "Building View Manager" As everything should be here without going elsewhere.
Also add the "save updated View" as the one within View Attributes does not work for all changes to the view but the saved view option does.
Is not "Building View Manager" just a friendlier dialog of the"Saved View Dialog" if sois there a reason it does not have all it's features?

Unless I'm mistaken, it looks as though *both* options will actually be available in the upcoming SELECTSeries1 release...
Thanks Steve,
Hope you are correct about this ... I am running the latest Beta 07.51 It appears like in this version the BMV is somewhat combined with the SV dialog, which does expose the "Show" column. However, now all the features in the old BMV are missing. For instance there is now no way to get the the View Attributes > Building Settings > Architectural Rules. The old "Edit a Drawing Definition" was nice (where is it now?). Also having the create icon tools right on the dialog was also nice (I know they exist in the tasks).
Anyhow I submitted a CR anyhow.
Ah, OK. Then you are seeing what I'm seeing (I'm two builds ahead but it seems the same).
Regarding the missing tools, unfortunately I can't comment on that since I simply do not know. I too was a bit surprised when I saw the new interface! I can definitely see some advantanges to this new design, but I'm not up to speed with the subsequent workflows.
