The following is NOT covered in theHELP file with the new release. BA08.11.07.60
First: if you work with a dataset on your network you must copy the BB_Drawingsseed.dgn to your dataset as it is a must.
Second: The Building dialogs are gone and we now use the dialogs from Microstation.
Fill in the first dialog with files name etc and then a 2nd dialog opens.
You can either: 1. Create a dring in the setcion or another location 2. Create a sheet with a Section. 3. Create a Section AND then Create a Sheet with a Border and the Section (Also called a Drawing or Engineering dgn)
As far as DV workflow goes in 8.11.7, here's my completely unofficial take on it:
1) From the "Views & Sheets" Task Interface select one of the standard Building views: Plan, Ceiling, N/S or E/W 2) Define the resulting Clip Volume and Section Cut location as needed 3) Right click on the Save View shape element and choose "Create Dynamic View" 4) In the pop-up dialog set the name as desired, the settings for the Drawing Model and Sheet Model, and check the "Automatically Open" option 5) After clicking OK, the sheet model should open with the drawing model/saved view referenced in
That's it for creation as best I can tell. For editing, the view window originally selected in step # 1 above will contain the applicable building view already attached in the View Attributes dialog box. From here you can change the settings as needed.
For section and detail markers the process is similar - choose the tool from the Task Interface, place the marker where needed, right-click and go. Of course, once you have the DVs defined and saved, you can drag n' drop from Project Explorer.
The thing I like about the new workflow is that there's one place (in the Task Interface) to pick the standard Building view orientations, and the dialog that opens after right-clicking on the saved view shape creates the required models and attaches the views and references all in one step. Simple. Same goes for the markers. Naturally this is entirely my opinion, but the more I work with this, the more I find that I prefer it to my 8.11.5 workflow.
Steve - I like the layout to. Just the change to the MStation Dialogs rather than the Buiding or BA dialogs caught me off guard. And the change was NOT noted inthe read me file.
Plus nothing said we needed to copy the BB_drawing.dgn file to our seed location of we were on a network. Without copying that file you get erros.
I'd liek a list of what files changed from last verson so I can update my dataset properly.

You and me both... It was a bit unexpected, but in the end a good move.
Regarding changed files... I can't help there. I honestly do not know.
Is there some though to putting all user definition in their own location away from Bentley's . Like Word does with it's dictionaries. So that as we update we have no chace of losing our data and all the new data is updated for sure???

This would be perfect. It's a pain to have so many different locations to keep track of for backup and installation.
