My firm is seeking an example Impelmentation plan that has been accepted by the USACE.
Would anyone be willing to share one if they have one?
Is anyone working on projects with the USACE and starting to implement Bentley BIM software?
Take a look at USACE's CAD*BIM Technology Center website:

Thanks Paul,
Surprised you don't remember the name, after all you spent a few weeks up in our office, in Oklahoma City.
I have spent plenty of time at the cadbim.usace.army.mil website, but what I am really after is some suggestions in writing the required Implementation Plans that the new USACE contract language requires. The documentaiton on the CAD-BIM website deals with the technical implementation and I don't think that is what the Corps is looking for on the Project Implementation Plan.
Keep in touch and tell the gang the Oak City boys said Hello.

Ah! I needed the "memory jog". I'll say "Hello", maybe even get some of us to reply out here.
I hope we can get these forums rolling and be a good source of good information.
Best wishes to the BIM team in OK City.

The Project Implementation Plan is a tool in the Contract Language determine whether or not you can use the tools they specify in the contract language. The Corps has had many firms say "Oh, I can do BIM" in their responses and interviews, and then when the rubber hit the road, the firms backtracked and asked for more time/money/etc because they didn't know what they were doing.
The Plan is just you (your firm) telling the Corps what you are doing: how are you using BIM on the project to better the design, how are you collaborating with your subs (if you have any), etc. It's a narrative to show that you know what you are doing.
HTH,
Shawn
Thanks,

For anyone who finds this post, now the Corps has a template and there are links in the template to the CIC out of Penn State that give you a BIM project execution planning guide that explains the process. Although as of today the download site isn't working. Just ask your BIM manager at your Corps district and they can send you the template.
