Here at Fluor Corporation we have used Triforma and BA in the past. However there was a hiatus of several years in our use of the product. We are just now beginning to use it again. It has matured rather well. However, like many folks we ran into difficulty in understanding the BA DataSets. Volker Thein's paper on this site helped to get us oriented, however there were still aspects not explained in his paper or clearly explained in the Help documentation. In order for our folks to better understand how the DataSets work, I wrote some additional documentation in the form of a paper which attempts to explain how to create custom objects in the DataSet and how the files that make up the DataSet are organized.
There have been a number of threads on this site that express problems in migrating projects and DataSets from BA V8 XM to BA V8i. I believe that most of the confusion surrounding migration can be cleared up by having a solid understanding of the DataSet files. The attached white paper should help folks working through this transition.
Hope this helps some folks,
Tom
