I'm currently building doors and windows in PFB for a new project, and have managed to do this sucessfully but have encountered what appears to be a major flaw in the software. I'm able to specify height and width dimensions but once I've placed a door within the model I find that the dimensions refer to what appears to be an arbitrary point within the door frame, rather than the width/height of the opening or even the total width/height of the object.
Obviously I could bodge it so that the drawings are correct but then my schedules would contain incorrect data.
I've tried playing with all the options both within the PFB and those available when placing the door but have had no success.
I'm using BA v8i Select Series 1
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Alex Shovelton
Anyone? Surely someone else thinks this is a problem or am I alone?
Can you please post you BXF file and I will take a look at it.
Thanks, Jeff
Alex, what do you mean by "I find that the dimensions refer to what appears to be an arbitrary point within the door frame, rather than the width/height of the opening or even the total width/height of the object"?
Alex,
As Jeff suggests, please post your frame file and your PFB settings XML file so others can take a look. It may be a good idea to place it in a wall and post the dgn as well.
Have other frames been OK? Is it just this one frame that is a problem?
There are a lot of settings in PFB for tolerances and stuff so there may be something there that is contributing to you problem.
Thanks for the replies guys, as Dennis suggests it was a case of not defining enough of the settings in PFB.
See old and new for comparison below.
Alex
Thanks André!
Any chance you know the answer to my latest door-related question?
