Luxology Material Palettes (non-dgnlib) for Building Apps

The building applications support Luxology rendering, however the family and part systems does not yet support the changes made to the material palette management that encapsulates the material palettes in a dgnlib. Since some of the material preset and optimization are not delivered in the legacy palettes, we have posted an update palette library that can be utilized with the Part and Family Systems. These palettes are provided as a supplemental palettes are not currently integrated with any building datasets. Our current recommendation is to download the luxolgy palattes and extract them into your dataset under a separate material directory. (ie C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 1)\WorkSpace\TriForma\ArchDatasetNcsUS\Materials\luxology_palettes\). In order for the application to access this new directory of material palettes, a configuration variable will need to be added, this can added to the project configuration file. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 1)\WorkSpace\Projects\Examples\ArchProjectTemplateNcsUS.pcf). Please add MS_MATERIAL > $(TFDIR)materials/luxology_palettes/ to the project configuration file. Note that you have to be a member of the Building Solutions (BIM) community to access the following document:

Please note, Part rendering does not support local materials, since the Family and Part systems is a reference systems.
