Compound Cell Placement - Bug

Is it just me, or is there a major flaw with the "Place Compound Cell" command.

It won't let me place the cell if I have the "Place Level" set to Relative. i have to have it set to Absolute. The consequence of this is that the cell is placed on the active level, and so all the cell components have the active level attributes. As illustrated below

The brown thing on the left is a Compound Cell of a window placed using the "Place Compound Cell" command, and the active level set to Wood Type 2. The window on the right was created with the Frame Builder using the same components.

Is there a setting I need to look at to get this to work properly ?

  • I am having a similar issue with "Place Compound Cell" where the 3d portion does not place in the file. The perforator will cut a hole in the form but the 3D is not there.

After posting this, I back-checked work of a teammate and noticed 'Compound Cell Plan Symbol' was checked in the drawing extraction definition. Unchecking this box solved my issue. This probably will not help Michael's original post.
