How can we permanently get rid of this message that keeps coming up when opening up a drawing that was done in a previous version, when opening it up in the latest version? The message will pop up again next time you open the same drawing even though you clicked on “don’t show this message again”. Is there a way to set it up so that it only warns us for the first time, so that it does not come up again??
I have tried adding the Configuration Variable in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 1)\WorkSpace\Users\structural.ucf : TF_NOCOMPATIBILITYWARNING and give it a value of 1
I have also tried adding the version number as the Config Var Value. TF_NOCOMPATIBILITYWARNING = 08.11.07.90 But still no success

Just to verify... 1) You are selecting "Structural" as the User from the MicroStation Manager dialog? 2) The UCF file you've mentioned is in fact the one being called when opening SM?
Yes I am using the structural.ucf file. Any idea how to resolve this issue, other than the methods that I have tried?
Hmm... that is odd.
Just out of curiosity, is the variable also in the triforma.ucf file? If not, can you try the same variations there?
A couple of ideas.
1) First make sure you have write access to the directory where the .ucf file is located.
When you select “don’t show this message again” it writes the configuration variable
you are trying to set to the .ucf file. When I first started here at our office, our IT administrator
had only read access to the all users directory.
2) With the latest version of of Bentley Architecture the setting to turn off this warning is nothing.
i.e.
TF_NOCOMPATIBILITYWARNING =
3) If the first two do not help, look for the setting of _USTN_USERCFG under menu item
Workspace->Configuration and make sure it is writing ucf file to Bentley's default location.

I have tried all of the above listed but still no results..
Very odd... Short of reinstalling the product, the only other thing I can suggest is this: Remove the variable from your structural.cfg file and leave it only in triforma.ucf as:
Try starting with the Triforma user - any warning? Now try it with the Structural user.
I had the same problem and I tried
TF_NOCOMPATIBILITYWARNING = 0
It worked ??
