What is the difference between "Interference Manager" and "Clash Detection"? We have Interference Manager, but it appears the interface is much easier with the Clash Detection? Are they different tools and it appears they require seperate licenses? Will Interference Manager be replaced with Clash Dection in an upcoming release in Bentley Architecture?
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

You are correct. Clash Detection is replacing Interference Manager. Clash Detection has been available for a while in Navigator V8i, but has just been recently added to Microstation.
You will find the new tool to be an improvement over the old tool in about every respect.
It is a different product with different licensing.
So we would need to contact bentley regarding changing out our site license for interference manager for a new license for the Clash detection?

Yes, but be aware that Clash Detection is a per-seat/per-user license, not a site license. You will not be trading in your Site license of Interference Manager for a site license of Clash Detection. You'll have to talk to your account manager about how it transfers over.
Also, Clash Detection tools are in MicroStation, but you still need the license to run the clashes.
