Hi there,
I have recently started using Bentley Architecture and unlike 3D Microstation where i can Imprint shapes onto solids, then push/pull/manipulate to my liking I have not found a similar tool in B.A. I am modelling structural timber walls that need openings for windows. I have managed to punch openings in walls but know would like to put recesses on either side of the wall and still maintain it as a single solid entity.
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance,
Catherine
Catherine,
You can use the same Cut Solid by Curves tool on Bentley Architecture walls that you used on MicroStation solids.
If you want to place a recess in a BA wall:
The recess will be a feature of the wall and can be manipulated on the wall by holding down the CTRL key while selected the feature using the MicroStation Move, Copy, Array, Rotate and Mirror tools. (Features will show as dashed green shapes when you select them this way.)

Thank you so much Noel!
Great help
Also using element selection on the edge of the feature you can use the handles that will appear to modify the shape of the feature. Try the alt key while doing so. And you can insert or delete vertices using the insert vertex and delete vertex tools while holding down the control key.
