Is there a better way of creating voids in spaces ?
I currently have to create the shape and place "grouped holes".
The problem with this is that the shape then becomes a cell and i can't manipulate the shape.
It would be great if the "spaces' tools could place a hole or void in the space and still be able to modify it using the standard modify tools.

Michael,
I wouldn't call it a "better way" but, there is another way to simulate spaces with voids.
You can use the space tool to trace around the space and the hole. Like so:
Upside: The resultant space is fully editable with the MicroStation Modification tools.
Downside: You can not let the points overlap, so you will have to stop just shy of the overlapping points. I usually leave a 1/64" gap. This will affect the overall area calculation but not in a major way.
By the way, this is the only way that you can create spaces with holes if you want them to import into Bentley Building Electrical Systems since it does not recognized the 'Group Hole' type of spaces.

I know all about your method. I use it all the time.
I've found that if I snap to the corners I've already drawn, it works fine.
We also use Archicad in our office, and it has the capability to create holes, as well as add a curved edge to the space element.
I guess you can always draw your unique shape and apply a hole to the shape and then use the space tool and pick assign space by element to apply space data to your complex shape?
I have done this many times.
This method works fine, until you have to modify the space.
You have to recreate the space again using this method.
