Saved Views: Can't turn off 'cut' elements!!!

Hi all,

I seem to be having trouble with my saved views when setting up 2d drawings in Bentley Architecture. I don't use 'sheets' or 'drawings', but rather set up a dynamic view in my reference model (with all floors, structures etc referenced in), then open a new 2d drawing and reference in the saved view from the model and any other 2d info i need (such as titlle block, notes etc.). The problem i am having is that i can't seem to turn off levels via live nesting which seem to be 'cut' by the saved view. I switch the levels off but they remain in the drawing (and print) and in some instances i can no longer select them but see them. So for eample i don't want to see my whole wall build up in plan and need to switch off my 'linings' level (i am not using compound walls). Futhermore, with our engineers drawings referenced in, there seems to be 'hang over' information which i cannot isolate of turn off without turning off the entire reference (again through live nesting). Is there a check box i am over looking? I have tried numerous combinations of the dynamic view options and presentation options via the reference dialog box, all to no avail. If anyone can help i would be much obliged.

Thanks in advance,

  • Palscan, check the levels used by the Section Cut and Forward/Reflected View portions of your parts. If they are set differently than the Definition (3D geometry) it is those levels you'll need to control.

In Ss3 the ability to turn these levels on and off should be much easier.

  • This is a long walk through but levels are saved with you saved view.

If you reopen the saved view at that moment you willn otice several options in the dialog box that lets you control levels reference files etc

Then resave and sync your reference

If you want to just cut those levels off it is a difficulty with global vs view savings.  Normally for me to amake this happen I have to change thing to view not global.

This is new to me dealing with a differnt seed or something in deliverables as I never had isues with this in the earlier BV's
