Hello,
I have been looking to use Dynamic Views to setup elevations for a residential building.
I have created a saved view/building view in the master reference file (where all the individual models are combined for extractions and so on), and created a drawing from this saved with which all seems to reference in correctly in terms of the position and orientation of the view.
However, the light setup does not seem to be saved with the building view, meaning that some parts of the model are in quite dark shadow to other portions though in the master model this is not the case. No matter what lighting settings I change in either the master file and update the saved view, or in the drawing file created from this dynamic view, no change seems to be evident.
Is there a setting I have not checked to get a dynamic view in a different file to maintain the light setups saved in the dynamic view so that the visual appearance of the drawing remains as it was saved?
Thanks very much for any advice.
Cheers.
Andrew.
I'm not a lighting expert by any means, but I'm not so sure that lighting works (as expected anyway) within a clip volume, which is the basis for a DV. You might want to post this question in the MicroStation forum too for additional feedback, unless someone reading this happens to know for sure...
Andrew, you might also want to try the Visualisation group, some awful lighting experts there. HTH André
Good point, André. The Visualization group might be the better option.
