AECOSIM - metric dataset

Hello

Is it safe to assume that the metric dataset that was made available for the Beta version of AECOSIM can be used with the current version of AECOSIM. If not, is there any indication of a timeline when this will be available?

  • Hello

Indeed, .... I haven't used the new AECOSIM yet. One of the main reasons being that I'm waiting to see if the metric dataset has been improved and is indeed a 'real metric dataset' and not just the imperial one re-badged.

From what you could make out off the one with the Beta version, was this much different from the one in BA SS1?

  • Although I don't have a definitive timeframe, I believe the first three regional metric datasets - GB, ANZ and SG (Singapore) - should be available soon.   The GB one in particular was revamped from the ground up based on the British Standard BS1192.

  • Any timeframe on this?

And can someone post a link to the dataset used for the beta testing?

    Thanks,

    Martin

  • I am delighted that at last AECOsim has been released; however, this was tempered by the fact that Bentley had not developed the metric UK dataset to coincide with the release. I ask the same question as Martin, what is the timeframe? I have a project that I would like to trial with AECOSIM but have no idea when a suitable dataset will be available. I had asked the Irish Bentley office when AECOSIM would be available a couple of weeks before you made it available on Select Server and no one could give me a possible release date.

Bentley must have records of all of your UK, ANZ & SG dataset users, why keep them in the dark? Email a newsletter to your users. It would be very useful to be informed when program updates and dataset improvements are available for download. At the moment I have to check the Select site to see if anything has been released. I am paying a subscription for this service; other software vendors are proud of upgrades and are only too pleased to let their customers know of improvements.  It would also be useful to know what the improvements are in advance of downloading, so that users can decide whether or not to upgrade.

Is the UK beta dataset available as a download in the absence of anything else and if it is would its use cause any later problems when the full dataset version is available, a question asked by robinhood but not yet answered?
