Hello
Is it safe to assume that the metric dataset that was made available for the Beta version of AECOSIM can be used with the current version of AECOSIM. If not, is there any indication of a timeline when this will be available?
Indeed, .... I haven't used the new AECOSIM yet. One of the main reasons being that I'm waiting to see if the metric dataset has been improved and is indeed a 'real metric dataset' and not just the imperial one re-badged.
From what you could make out off the one with the Beta version, was this much different from the one in BA SS1?

Although I don't have a definitive timeframe, I believe the first three regional metric datasets - GB, ANZ and SG (Singapore) - should be available soon. The GB one in particular was revamped from the ground up based on the British Standard BS1192.
Guess what, guys.
We do have not only one unified metric dataset to work with in AECOSIM Release 4 WIP, but we also have a UK and Swedish dataset (and some more) in addition!
Now if that isn't good news, I don't know.
Well done, folks!
Yes, very good news indeed! You might almost think the US was converting to metric or something. ;-)
No way! e.g. you couldn't run NASA on metric
I suppose that's true... though now you could model a "generic" launch pad in metric. ;-)
Yes, we've got a Swedish dataset for ss4. Installed fine, and seems to work fine.
Some has worked more than they expected to get this out. Thanks, it is needed when working with ABD.

So we now have a SS5 released, and still no metric dataset.
They will never learn...
At least you have a brand new updated version. Still waiting for the new MicroStation.
