Hi,
if we have fill's in dynamic views, the fill is in front of the lines (section view)
how do we send all these fill's to the back
the brown line should be in front (outlined shape, brown line and a grey fill)
Rik
Can you repost the screen captures? They don't seem to be attached correctly.
I've added the screen captures
Yes, I believe the element order aspect is resolved in ABD. Granted, it's been quite some time since I've seen a testcase for that so I am going from memory...
Steve, Damon,
this is all AECOsim 8.11.09.225
and yes, these are all compound cells
the 2D cell contains a filled shape with a "white pen" to cover every thing below this cell
the cells are working fine in a simple 2D cell file, even for placing in a 3D file
combining a 3D and a 2D cell in DEM or DV causes this malfunction
there is no difference if the 2D cell is exploded before adding the content to the compound cell
the problem is that element priority is not working in a 3D file and the "bring to front" function neither
Is the most disturbing problem is that the lines of a cut disappear behind the fill, this never happens in a DEM file.
If you haven't already done so, I would suggest logging a service ticket so that support can review your example files.
Hi Rik,
Have you tried using Cached Visible Edges...? May or may not help.
Thanks for the tip Seah (again a new button discovered :-) )
We've tried the suggested setting 'cached visible edges' in the references-dialog, with some progress (see results in attachment): the lines and hatches now are above the fill.
But instead of one thick line, we now have two smaller lines?!
Any suggestions what we did wrong, or anybody having the same issue?
thanks
yea.... it's either that or one thin white line on a thicker black line?
Seah, i don't understand your question/remark?
Do you mean with 'thin white line' the 'thin fill-colour line', or what white line are you talking about?
Not important, but..... sometimes two thin black lines can be simulated by having a thin white line overprinting over a thicker black line underneath.
The DV process generates 'section cut' graphics over the forward view edges.
Either way it looks like a legitimate bug.
Ok, I understand, and to me it looks like somehow the cut-fill colour in a strange way apears under the inner-side of the thick-outline, and then comes back above the thick line, in this way creating a thick line into two smaller lines, just as you described with the white-line in the previous post...
There goes another service-ticket....
I just was wondering: wouldn't it be possible when generating the DV, that the program first pics up the cut-fill from the parts-definitions, and then puts the hatches and outlines on top of the fill. But probably it isn't that easy to just change the order in which the drawing definitions get picked up out of the parts? Why they just can't do this in the first place, because in which scenario do you want your fill above your hatches and outlines, doesn't make sense to me...
update: technical support was able to reproduce the issue and it will be reported to Development...
