Need help scaling lineweights for plots smaller than full size. I am coming from a AutoCAD background and am used to seeing a scale Lineweights option at time of plot. Is there a similar feature in Microstation? I know I can create seperate pen tables. Any suggestions???
The easiest way top do this is with the pltcfg file. From the printer dialog pick File:Edit Printer Driver Configuration. Do a save as and edit the Weight maps tab.
Its pretty self explanatory once you get in there and you can do all sorts of other cool things.
- Oh and forget pentables - they are a horrible blast from the past...
Forget pentables?
Why that? We use them on all of our plotting.
How would you get everything plotted in black then?
Agree with Mr Klaschka.
I had just two pltcfg files serve all my projects. Pentables need not apply.
I have also configured my pltcfg to strip out a lot of the work involved in maintaining colour level-overrides by forcing all colour table colours (0 to 254) to print black. That way colour table values onscreen can mean something useful depending on context (eg brick =red, steel = blue, pink = firerated, etc)
If a user wants to see colour on paper they have to go find a nice RGB value.

Bylevel symbolgy works for us. Just change the colour of elements using Level Manager.
That means that you have to do that on every layout, and if you add one level in the model, you'll have to do that again in the layout?
Looks very complicated.
