P+F - unify across families in AECOsim

Question

We found this presentation online about AECOsim, which mentions (p19): 
 "unification across families: no longer an issue in BuildingDesigner"

 how do you make this work? When chosing a unifier part I only see the ones within the same family to chose from...

No, parts across families of different names is not yet supported. What Michael is referring to is the ability to have separate XML files with the same family name, located in different folders if needed, which does allow unifiers to be stored in a separate file - that was the main request in the past.
