What is the easiest way to modify a wall penetration? For example, I have a penetration in my concrete lift station wall where my influent pipe is located and the pipe elevation has changed. Is there an easy way to change the location of the wall penetration?
Try using the Move tool and utilizing AccuSnap to snap to the center of the penentration and use AccuDraw to lock on the compass index and snap to the center of the pipe. Should get the penetration lined up with the pipe.
That does seem to create another penetration, however, the original penetration still remains.
Joe, I am not getting the same result. Is this happening for all your penetrations?
For some reason that penetration was hung up in the model. I deleted the wall and replaced it, replaced the penetration and now it is behaving appropriately. Thanks for the help Paul.
Joe... if you manipulated the edit handles that appear with a green rectangle/circle when you select the edge of the penetration then you would end up with the results that you described below. This is because that green rectangle/circle is actually the feature (created by the penetration) that is stored on the DGN. The feature is linked to the penetration until the feature is manipulated to differ from the penetration. Manipulating the feature breaks the link and stores the information about the feature entirely onto the wall/slab that it is cutting. Thus when you move the penetration the original (modified) feature cut is still there and a new feature cut is created in the new location. If this happens you can use the delete feature tool to remove the original modified location.
