Hi,I want to set the configuration of AECOsim Building Designer so that if connected to our network it looks at the server workspace, and if it's not connected it looks locally. Any Help please!
Hi Ajal,
Do you have any sort of company workspace running for MicroStation at the moment and is this for one build or multiple AECOsim builds?
Thanks,
Hi Bear,
This is for one build AECOsim and is on my Iomega network storage centre.
Thanks.
Hi Ajal, it's not a small job, but getting the basics right is going to save you a lot of time.
Firstly, I would look at getting the basics going in a MicroStation build. This is going to look after things like styles, levels and so on.
Personally, I recommend you avoid editing any of the delivered cfg files and use a custom one of your own. The best way to do this is to have a cfg file that goes into the "...AECOsimBuildingDesigner\config\appl\" directory. Use this cfg file to define the site location of your build using the variable _USTN_SITE. I've done a blog on the basics of this in:
communities.bentley.com/.../stu-s-solution-a-more-traditional-alternative.aspx
Ssome more infoon on _USTN_SITE and how to set up the cfg file is in:
communities.bentley.com/.../the-ultimate-portable-build-part-2-the-appl-cfg.aspx
communities.bentley.com/.../build-kick-off-ustn-site.aspx
You could them use project pcf files to build your AECOsim build using the delivered pcf files with AECOsim as examples.
Take your time and don't rush is my recommendation and don't hesitate to ask questions.
