How can I change the hatch / color of a 3D element?

Hi Folks,

How can I change the hatch / color of a 3D element? (pic see attached)

Q: Do I change the hatch in 3D model or in the sheet?

Q: How I can do this? (Step by Step would be fine)

Q: How I can organize that the hatch is associative to different scale, means 1:50/1:100, ? Maybe there is an change to arrange a simulation that at scale >100 the wall are all colerd black and < 100 all walls are with hatch

Thanks Konrad

  • Hi Steve,

thats right, it is a sheet, ref from a model. It was for an better understandig what I mean. Other program are able, to change the pattern in a 3D model, for example over a doppelklick on the wall and then I can choose out an other material, coler or what ever. Is simpel and easy and efficent, but at AECOsim is nothing common. Fare fare away from other program.

But with your help, I figured out how I can change all pattern for a wall. I thing is not possible that a user have the option to decide what to put on the plan or not.

    Thanks Konrad

  • I'm glad to see that you were able to change the pattern as you needed!

While it's not as simple as directly modifying the element in the 3D model, there are aspects to the Family + Part system that are much more powerful in a project setting... once you've learned how they work.
