I'm going through the learning path for Parametric Cell Studio Fundamentals and every time I go to close a 2D shape (even basic shapes) it crashes.
Is this an issue with my pc or is this a fault being caused by something else?

RE: Parametric Cell Studio Crashing

Hi Neal,

Just wanted to confirm that I just now had this problem with OpenBuildings PCstudio and resolved it by turning off my Kaspersky anti-virus. I think you can set up the anti-virus to leave PCstudio alone.

And yes, PCstudio is a GIANT PAIN, but I find it can do just about anything I need to to. Once you learn it, it's actually quite powerful.

Re: Parametric Cell Studio Crashing

Check anit virus. Norton can do this.

I am curious though what might be happening at a system level that allows you to work for a period of time and then suddenly crash. Mostly because of the issue yu were having at the start.

Re: Parametric Cell Studio Crashing

PC Studio has been working for the last few days.
If you are looking at changing settings on your graphics card,

I noticed the program in your screen capture is Aecosimbuildingdesigner.exe

Any adjustments you make with this .exe file impact the overall program.

PC studio is actually a separate program that runs along side Building Designer.

The exe for this program is located here on Windows 7.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\AECOsimBuildingDesigner V8i Ss4\AECOsimBuildingDesigner\exe\pcstudio.exe.

You may want to add this program to Nvidia driver. This way you can change setting

directly for PC studio without affecting Building designer settings.

What you show does look like a graphics issue.

You may try looking to see if a newer version of the Nvidia exists.

The version I have is 320.86. Your version may have some glitches that appeared with Windows 8.

Good Luck.
