When I add new Spaces to the catalog, for some reason they do not appear in alphabetical order in the Spaces dialog.
See attached screen grab - "Path" should be below "Parking Undercroft" but instead they appear in the order I created them.
It's a minor issue, but its quite important, else new spaces may get missed appearing, as they will, at the end of a long list. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?
The spaces are listed by their order in the Spaces.xml file that stores their properties, the list is not re-sorted into alphabetical order by the dialog.
Project specific spaces will be listed first, also in their order in the project_Spaces.xml file (e.g. projectcatalogs_architectural.xml).
They can be re-ordered by using cut and paste within the xml files.
Thanks for the advice Marc,
Is there any way to change this so that the dialog functions in the same way as other catalog dialogs? - the slab, beams, walls, etc... all sort alphabetically, so the logic of a different system is lost on me.
Is there a reason why Spaces is different, personally I'd rather an alphabetical list - I can always add prefixes if necessary to re-order the items.
I think users may prefer an alphabetically list over a load order list. Filed the following defect.
Defect 69906:The "Create Space" dialog should list the Space Type alphabetically, it currently list them in XML load order. Please correct to list Spaces Type alphabetically
We can also look into sort options in the future.
