We're finding changes to the materials library are not being updated to ProjectWise, and instead only the local C: drive copy of dataset_materials.dgnlib gets updated. When we make changes to the materials library, from a standard file, we access it via the menus: Settings>Rendering>Materials. We then make our changes, then "Copy to Library" and "Remove Local Copy" for any materials we've amended. This process seems to update the dataset_materials.dgnlib on the local C: drive but does not check-in the change back to ProjectWise. As a consequence any change only affects the local machine not all users. We are therefore having to manually copy the local file back to ProjectWise, to make site wide changes. Please could someone confirm whether this is an error in ProjectWise integration or if there is another reason why our workflow is not sending the changes back to ProjectWise.
Hi Mark,
Which version of ProjectWise are you using?
Hi Steve,
ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4)
Version 08.11.11.575 - Commercial Release
OK, thanks Mark. I found TR# 349611 that I believe may be the same as what you've described, but I'll need to double check its status to be sure. This was the description: "When you import a dgnlib file from ProjectWise it gets checked out and when closing the MicroStation it does not get checked in automatically."
Steve,
Just to clarify - I don't believe it is checked in or out to ProjectWise whatsoever. The local copy gets updated in my C:\pwwork folder, but nothing happens in ProjectWise (when I exit PW there's no message to warn me the file is checked out).
Mark
Mark, are you using a manged workspace in any fashion?
