I agree. Typically to modify the clip, you would only need to toggle ON the 'Show' column of the saved view to present the saved view boundary. Ideally, you would be able to use 'Create Step' on that boundary. I would file a service ticket to generate a Change Request to be able do that. Users filing Change Requests hold more importance than me filing it as a Bentley colleague.

Thank's for your help. I tried it and it worked.

But it's a little bit cumbersome.

So my wish would be to add the step at the same way as it is possible on a Clip Volume,

Right-click->Create Step.

By the way, what is the key-in for Create Step?

Before you create the drawing, but while you have a fitted clip volume applied to the view, right-click on the clip volume boundary and choose Create Step.

I know you can do that for sections but I don't get that option for plans. Am I missing something?

You can add a step to the plan, but just using the right-click > Create Step option after it is created.

I hope this doesn't mean that they are not going to add the step feature in Place Plan Callout tool.

Christian,

I don't have time to include screen captures right now, but hopefully I can explain in a way that they are not needed.

In the 3D model where you created the saved view to update, create a new clip volume that has the step that you want (like you showed in your second image).
Apply the Saved View that you want to update to the view that has the clip volume that you want to use, except turn off the option to apply the Clip Volume from the Saved View when you apply the view. This will apply all of the settings from the Saved View, except the Clip Volume.
1. From the Saved View dialog, double-click on the name of the view that you want to apply, the Apply Saved View dialog will open. Turn Off the option for Clip Volume, the rest of the options should be on.
Your active view should now be setup the way that you want your Saved View to be displayed. Update the Saved View from the Active View
1. From the Saved View dialog, select the view that you want to update, then select the Update Saved View Settings icon (at the top of the dialog with the blue diskette, next to Create Saved View) and then left-click in the view to update from. Note that if you rotated your view that you are updating from to verify that the step is there make sure that you have the "Update Camera Position" option turned OFF before left-clicking in the view.
