Hi All
Apologies if this has cropped up elsewhere and once again if it's a very simple problem but...
We are using AECOsim Building Designer V8i (SELECT Series 3) through (Projectwise V8i SELECT Series 4) and are producing our architectural drawings via extraction from Master Model Files.
We have been using the standard 'cut location' tools in the DEM to pretty good effect, however we are now at a stage where we need our extractions to be more focused and isolated than the infinite plane cuts produced from the above.
Therefore we have decided to use saved views as the basis for our extraction - again within the DEM. All views look correct and display properly, except for following extraction a blank file is created. Upon entering the 'building group model' it appears that the position of the saved view is mis-aligned i.e on a different plane?
Can anyone help?
Sounds good, thanks!
Thanks Steve
I think this has now been resolved.
The saved views had displayed the same geometry in all applications, the misalignment only became evident following extraction. The model was a bit of a mess in terms of clips and views so we cleaned it out and started fresh, clipping the volume, aligning the view to the clip and then re directing the DEM to the new view.
Has seemed to do the trick, but will let you know how we get on.

So if you apply the Saved View directly in the Group Model, you are not seeing the expected geometry?
For reference, a simpler approach may be to use a Shape to define the extents of the extraction, with the Full Plane toggle unchecked in the Region tab.
