I have project with multiple building, each building has differnet grid , how ican create grid for each one ?

RE: Hello

In a bb_floormaster file you can have multiple buildings each with its own set of floors and reference planes.

In this case the naming scheme floors and reference planes would probably reflect the buildings containing them, e.g B1_Floor_00, B2_Floor_01, etc.

When you create a grid where the bb_floormaster has multiple buildings you will be prompted to select the building to which the grid will be associated so you have to choose B1 or B2 so are unable to use the other building's floors and reference planes.

One way to get around this current limitation would be to have a single building containing all of the floors and reference planes named as previously, this would allow you to created grids based on selecting the appropriate floors. Not ideal but one possible workaround. However this is not the best method for IFC output where the building is part of the organisational structure of the IFC (which is one of the reasons for the changes to the Floor Manager tree structure). You would also have a lot of floors listed in the floor selector.

Creating separate projects for each building is probably a better route to follow. As well as allowing you to create and store the grids for each building separately, the separation will result in a less busy list when using the floor selector.

Please can you post an example schematic of the project or describe its arrangement. We may then be able to offer some more specific advice.

RE: Hello

each building is the same project , but each buidling has its own grid , what should i do ,

If each is a different project then yes one floor master for each.

Then also you can point all projects to the same BB_Floor_Master in your settings under Workspace preferences (all project) on within your Project user.ucf file for that project only (make sure to lock the variable)

RE: Hello

yes you do

RE: Hello

do you mean that i must have floor master "BB-floor master " file for each buidling ?

RE: Hello

Right... since grids are currently stored per-building + floor, and buildings are stored in the project's Floormaster file, I'm not sure if there's any way to have grids per building stored in the same project.

That's why Eric had suggested using separate projects since that should allow different building + floor + grid.

RE: Hello

What I mean , I have two building , first I create floor manager with two building, then I create grid for building A, when I create the grid for building B I find the previous grid still exist if icreate another grid it will be superppsed on the previous one and if I delete the previouse on how I can modify it aga
