Often I find that printing takes irritatingly long time.
Would it be any problems starting a second session for MicroStation Building Designer and run PO in it, at the same time as working in ABD-arch in another session?
I understand that changes can make the geometry unsynced.
IMHO the biggest drawback with opening simultaneous sessions (for whatever reason) is the sharing of preferences. Assuming both are opened with the same User selected, of course.
Yes -a shared upf doesn't seem to be safe.
But -creating a new user, say ABD-ustn, and use it only in MicroStation Building Designer, and another, say ABD-A, and use it only in Architectural Building Designer would be safe even if they use the same Workspace.
Assume one should create separate interfaces also.
What about that?

That seems like a decent option and would allow you to keep working while waiting for the process to complete.
thanks
