Probably doing something elementally daft in Aecosim Building Designer, but I can't see any door or window tags in any of my model files, sheet files etc. etc. 3d, 2d, anywhere.
Version AECOsim Building Designer V81 (Select Series 4) - Version 08.11.09.627
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Hello Graham,
The Tags normally don't show up in 3D but they do show up when creating Plans using Drawing Composition (Place Plan Callout and/or Create Plan View).
Which Dataset are you using?
Morning Nasir
I'm using the GB Dataset, Select Series 4.
I've place plan call outs and created plan views, but no tags. I thought it might be a corrupt dgnlib perhaps, but reverting back to the original file hasn't made any difference.

Attached is a JPG of what I can see
Has the Dataset_GB been customized? If so, can you try to load the out-of-the-box Dataset and open my file in that?
I have a strong feeling that something has been changed in the Dataset.

It does appear to have been a Dataset issue - I removed the Dataset, reinstalled and set up a new plan view - this now shows the door tags etc.
Now I just need to work out how to update all the existing plan views!
Thanks for your help
Depends. If you have created custom doors/windows in the previously deleted Dataset than you might have lost it. All those objects need to be recreated.
If it has been deleted than AECOsim will tell you, when the door/windows is selected, that it can't find that particular door/window.
Could be that Annotation Cells had been modified
for related examples see:
Spaces - DataGroup Annotation Cells - Changing the Length of the Room Number
Associate a new DataGroup Type with a DataGroup annotation cell for a drawing rule
this might also be relevant:
Manually placed DataGroup Annotation Cells disappear on reopening of the DGN file.

That could have been it - I did edit the cells, but I've now reloaded the dataset, and all seems well.
However - a subsequent question - how do you make the cells line up with the drawing? I have rotated the ACS to suit the survey of the building, but the tags appear in line with the original 'global' orientation.
Hi Graham,
A new feature was added in SS5, it hasn't been given a place in the GUI yet as we are still awaiting feedback from it's use in practice, the steps to use it are in brief:
It will not control:
This needs a properly illustrated guide which I will endeavour to provide soon.
Are you comfortable with (or do you have a CAD admin who is) editing the PCF?
Marc,
I tried the variable you described.
When I refresh the annotations these are NOT aligning with the active ACS.
When I delete all the annotations and then ask to refresh they ARE aligning.
PS: I manually rotate the ACS in the drawing model - so I am not rotating by means of the floormanager.
Is this working as expected?
