In the Place Wall toolbox tick the Auto Connect option. This will mitre walls of the same type.

You also have the option to Close where your wall will "rubber band" until you place the last point.

I know the walls will mitre using L bisector, I want them to mitre using L parallel by default....is this possible?

So you would like the default to be as shown in your screenshot, not to mitre?

Yes, we would like the default connection to be as in my screen capture (i.e. L Parallel)

Further to this question, is there anywhere that we can set the default join option for compound wall components?

ie, when i join a compound wall, the structure layer joins with a butted L, the furring and finish layers join with a mitred joint etc. I would like to be able to change this so that, for example, my furring layers connect with a butted L joint also, not a mitred joint.
