OpenBuildings Energy Simulator PartL Exam - March 2021

We are pleased to announce the availability of the OpenBuildings Energy Simulator PartL course, along with the related exam.                                                    

These are aimed at energy assessors who wish to become accredited with using OpenBuildings Energy Simulators PartL SBEM interface for producing EPCs and ensuring compliance with PartL of the UK Building regulations. OpenBuildings Energy Simulator PartL is fully approved in both England and Wales at this time, with other regions to follow.

• Course: The OpenBuildings Energy Simulator PartL energy assessor Learning path is now available on our LearnServer here.
  This is available On-Demand for free to our Select users. The Learning path consists of three QuickStarts: ES101, ES102, and finally ES201, as shown below. (It is strongly advised that you complete this training prior to taking the exam, however it is not mandatory).
  

• Exam: The PartL exam is scheduled for 16th March 2021 at 2pm and is available for registration here.
  This will be a fully online, 2 hour multiple-choice exam, hosted by TestReach. Upon registration TestReach will contact each candidate within a week of the exam date with further instructions.
  
  Registration window for exam closes on 1st March 2021.
  
  

  System-Requirements for online exam:

  • A laptop or computer running Windows 7+ or Mac OS 10.8+
  • Intel Core i3 (or equivalent) and 4GB RAM
  • A working webcam
  • A working microphone and speakers
  • Good, continuous internet speed of 516kbps or higher

Obtaining the OpenBuildings PartL Software: OpenBuildings Update 8 will be publicly available for download from our website in the coming weeks, however for the time being Update 7 Priority Build is required to run PartL on the current version of SBEM.
