How do I edit glazing properties for doors and windows?

How do I model an external door with glazing? I understand that for the Part L calculation, the software treats any door with more than 50% glazing as a window, but how do you set the glazing percentage on a door?

I've also altered the default glazing percentage for windows using the process shown in the blog post, but is there a way to change individual window glazing percentages? When I go into a window's properties the option is greyed out.

  • Hi Ralph,

If you are running a PartL calc then you can change the frame factor by editing the individual surfaces on the Misc tab as below. Please find further info here.

For PartL calculations you are correct that a glazed door is recognised as a window if the glazed percentage is over 50%, and recognised as a normal door if less than 50%.

So, should your door contain over 50% glazing the current workflow for PartL is to instead add this surface into your building model as a normal window.
