Has the "Set-up Intermediate Floors" function from Hevacomp been transferred over to OpenBuildings energy simulator yet ?
Cheers

This wouldn't really be the intended workflow of the software, as it would be expecting the imported model to be set up as you require. When modelling in Energy Sim it creates the surface adjacencies at the time of a room being drawn.

If you really wished you could possibly try copying the relevant floor to a hew height, deleting the original floor, and then down copying it down again, and that may regenerate the surfaces in question.

But to be honest this is really straying away from how the software was intended to be used so ideally I would suggest completing the setup of your model prior to importing, or else tracing your model directly in Energy Simulator.

RE: Set-up Intermediate Floors

Hi Shane,

Have come across this query looking for something similar. Is there function to set up intermediate floors when the model has been imported from Hevacomp V8? The original model did not have the intermediate floors set up prior to it being imported into energy simulator and it appears to not have been set up automatically after doing so?

Thanks

There is no such feature as this is actually one of the vastly improved features of OpenBuildings Energy Simulator, in that the software will do this automatically for you.

When a room is traced on the floor above an existing room it will automatically set up the surface adjacencies, as long as the new room is within the distance set here.

Furthermore, double-height spaces will recognise all adjacent rooms, independent of what floor they are on. (You may recall in Hevacomp that workarounds were required in this regard). This makes taller spaces like atria and warehouses much easier to model - all you need to do is to enter the correct room height and when the adjacent rooms are added the software will do the rest.
