Trying to create an EPC/SBEM certificate however an error pops up saying "At least 1 Zone needed." Version v10.15.1.23
For the Part L calc, there are 3 zones which I've used and for each one a different HVAC system. I've created inputs for each one and when I've tried to run the EPC/results/compliance it comes up with the error message attached.
Throughout all this I have not encountered any error messages in notifications.
I've recreated the model in the same workplace however in a separate workset and the same error message displays.
Not sure what I've done wrong. How can I resolve this?
Hi Amrit,
Can you please check if you select the zones on following tabs ?
1. Select Rooms
2. Select same zones for HVAC System tab
and also for
3. Room Data
Please check selecting zones on these tabs resolves your issue.
HTH,
Thanks and Regards,
Sandeep
Hi Sandeep,Thank you for your help however this is something I've already tried and it hasn't worked. I believe this is a software error and I'm currently waiting on a response from my ticket.
Regards,Amrit
Our technical support colleagues will help you out on your SR.
Best Regards,
I can confirm this is not a software error - it is a message to let you know that there are one or more rooms included that you have not assigned to any HVAC system.
Please find guidance on this workflow here.
Please also note the PartL course goes through this more in depth - it would be worthwhile going through this. It can be found here.
If required we can obtain your WorkSet via the related SR and will give you more specific advice in relation to this project.

Hi Shane,Thank you for your response and help.Is there anyway to set an entire zone to "Room uses HVAC" instead of individual rooms one at a time. For example, in this project I have around 50-60 rooms with no heating + cooling. They are all in the same zone however to run the EPC/SBEM I had to go through each room and manually select "No Heating and Cooling Zone" in the room data. This was the only change I made to fix my problem.
Thank you,Amrit
Glad that helped. It is likely such rooms belong to multiple zones (eg they will also be in the "All Rooms" zone, for instance) and you may also have included these other zones as a HVAC Zone - this may be why you have to specify individually.
I will send you a request shortly to obtain the project from you so we can be certain.
Hi Shane,
I wonder why the software creates "all Room" zone and "Each floor" zone because this lead me to specify each room to my own create zones individually. doing so is very time-consuming.
Could you please advice if there is any way to avoid creating "All room" zone and "each Floor" zone please?
Kind regards,
Bake
Hi Bake,
Shane is on leave for this week and I thought of filling in.
You definitely do not need to use or assign the "all room" or "each floor" zone if that is hampering your workflow, it is there as a default so that it becomes convenient for users if they wanted to assign HVAC systems to the entire building or to individual floors. You can create your own zone and work with that.

Hi,
Thank you. I am not sure if I explain the issue clearly, is there any chance we can have team meeting so that I can excerise and show it to you
Many thanks
