I have a split level roof with a vertical section exposed to external (wall) but below it's a partition - in Hevacomp you could use vertical infil and insert rooflights for windows - my question is how do you do that in Openbuildings ? I've seen Shane's item on
however it made little seen to me as my "wall" is shown as a partition on my model.
Any ideas ?
Could you paste ascreenshot of the situation you are in? It would help me to understand better. The wall that is extended as external can have a window on the exposed part, thats possible.
As requested screenshot
Also as you'll see I've managed to get exposed "wall" and internal "partition" on the main hall (at the left side of the building) but I can't get it to do the same for the remaining areas on the lower roof section - what doesn't help is that some rooms extend across both roof sections. Hope this helps.
The taller rooms under higher roofs are separate rooms, right? If yes, you can place windows to those rooms on the extended exposed walls. Make sure the sill height of those windows are above the top of the lower roof, and the height of the window does not exceed the top point of the taller roof.
I know what the problem is, transfering from Hevacomp to OpenBuildings and having to learn how to do things a different way, I've sorted it - wasted a lot of time but I've sorted it.
Thanks for your help.
