I know what the problem is, transfering from Hevacomp to OpenBuildings and having to learn how to do things a different way, I've sorted it - wasted a lot of time but I've sorted it.

The taller rooms under higher roofs are separate rooms, right? If yes, you can place windows to those rooms on the extended exposed walls. Make sure the sill height of those windows are above the top of the lower roof, and the height of the window does not exceed the top point of the taller roof.

Could you paste ascreenshot of the situation you are in? It would help me to understand better. The wall that is extended as external can have a window on the exposed part, thats possible.
