Question

Hi there, 
 
 can someone help me to know if it is possible to do solar panel study (Photovoltaic Analysis) on OpenBuilding energy simulator? 
 Or if it is possible to import Revit or STAAD pro file to openbuilding and proceed with energy analysis?

Hi Ibrahim, 
 For the photovoltaic analysis could you maybe clarify what results exactly would you be looking for? For example PV's and Solar Panels are available in the PartL calculation, but not sure if this is what you are looking for. 
 Regarding importing - yes models can be imported via the Analytical space mode l function, or via GBXML .

 OpenBuildings Energy Simulator includes and builds upon the technology of Hevacomp, which has been one of the most established tools in the industry and taken by many to be the industry standard for decades. 
 It can accomplish all of the functions you refer to above: 
 * EnergyPlus Simulation - comes as standard in the software along with a fully interactive user interface to set up any combination of EnergyPlus HVAC systems, including PV if desired 
 * Import from BIM models - the established workflows for BIM and energy analysis integration allows you to direct import BIM models from OpenBuildings Designer (which you get for free as part of your license) via the ASM function . You can also directly import GBXML and Hevacomp models.
