When accessing the project tree on one of our projects the software shuts itself down with no error codes given please help.

Thanks for letting us know about this.
Can you please try to remove your "Prefs" folder from this location: "C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner" and then restart your OpenBuildings Energy Simulator? Please refer to the screengrab below for reference.
