A custom menu will not display as a Task Menu in AECOsim Building Designer even though I have already placed the dgnlib file in the correct dgnlib folder to be read. The custom tools can be opened as tool boxes, but not as a Task Menu.
Before this can be done and have it work you MUST create a custom DGN. LIB file.
Move the custom menu dgnlib file to the correct dgnlib folder in AECOsim Building Designer. In the case of the delivered workspace, move the file to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\AECOsimBuildingDesigner V8i\WorkSpace\Projects\BuildingExamples\BuildingSample_US\support\dataset\dgnlib\.ABD and MS handle tasks a little differently. MicroStation assumes that all tasks that are defined should be visible. ABD suppresses the MS tasks and many of the tasks that are defined in various dgnlibs, so only tasks that are explicitly requested are shown. As a result, you have to tell ABD to show a certain task (usually through a pulldown command in ABD).The ABD and MS tasks are currently accessed by commands on the Tools pull down. (see the attached image).
Ignoring the prefix on them to silently load the Task Bar in case it is closed, their keyins are:TASKTOOLBOX OPEN \Building Designer TasksTASKTOOLBOX OPEN \Microstation Tasks
The easiest thing that you could do is to add a pulldown item to the menu in the custom dgnlib that allows you to open the task bar. Also, be sure that none of the old pre-ABD commands are used in your tasks. There have been users who were getting error messages due to duplication of command names and icons that are defined in both their pre-ABD dgnlibs and the dgnlibs included with ABD.
