Problem

How do I create a drawing view seed file & how do I get it to appear in the list when creating new Drawing Views?

Solution

In order to add your own seed file in the .dgnlib you need to create one:

Open the DrawingSeed_Architectural.dgnlib (for example),  you will see a set of models that are already created by default.  From the "Design model" create a “saved view”.  Once the saved view is created open the “Saved View” dialog box and locate the saved view that you just created and rename with a name of your preference.  Once you have changed the name of the saved view, create a Drawing View from the saved view.  This Drawing View should have a "Drawing Model" and a "Sheet Model".  Before closing the Saved View dialog box, right click on the new saved view you created.  Select Properties and in the "General" section change the "Type" from "Saved View" to the selected type of view you want. Save and close the program.

Open a new/different file and create a Drawing View, under the list of seed files selction there should be the new seed file that was created.
