When opening any design file I get a message that "No column grid systems were found. If this model was imported from an analysis program, check that the grid systems were properly defined. If column schedules are generated, XY offsets will be used as location marks."
The reason that there are errors about the grid system in the message center when you open a design model is because you don't have a grid system available. This is a normal message and will not create any harm to the file you have open.If you do not want to see it and also do not use a column grid, just open the Grid Systems tool from the Structural Design interface. Click Add and select either Orthogonal or Radial from the pulldown selection. Click OK and you will not see the message again when opening any file. If you want to use a Column Grid System, you would then proceed to click on Create/Update Grid Models to add it to Project Explorer where each grid system can be dragged into the design model and added as a reference file.
