After loading Generative Components and opening a file, if I select anything that results in the Script Editor opening, Generative Components throws an exception error that allows me to send the error to Bentley. After I close that dialog Generative Components hangs. This seems to happen no matter which file I open or even if I create a new file. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Generative Components but this did not help.
When error messages suddenly display regardless of which files are opened, it can be worthwhile renaming your existing \prefs folder, by default located at C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Bentley\AECOsimBuildingDesigner\8.11\xxxxxxx. The \prefs folder typically contains everything related to the UI, including the GC user preference (upf) and docking/task interface XML files. If this does not help, you can also try removing the user temp folder (which can be restored) in the event that some other data corruption has occurred outside of the \prefs folder.
