I am creating company specific Drawing Seeds for plans, sections and elevations. Within these Drawing Seeds I am using the "Cut - Drawing" and "Forward - Drawing" Display Styles, however, while I've set the Render Mode Display to use Wireframe for both, after placing Saved Views created from these Drawing Seeds the Display Styles always revert to Visible Edges instead. How can I force the Display Style used by new drawings to use the Wireframe mode that I've chosen for my Drawing Seeds?
To simplify the process you may wish to consider creating new Display Styles for your custom Drawing Seeds. The following steps should allow you to create new Drawing Views that by default use a Wireframe display mode.
Open the Saved Views dialog box.
Right-click on the applicable Saved View and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
From the Clip Volume Settings task panel click on the Cut Display Style, Forward Display Style and/or Back Display Style drop-down menus and choose your new Display Style(s). When finished close the Saved Views dialog box.
Navigate to the Drawing Model associated to that Saved View that you've just changed, then right-click on any element and choose "Set Reference Presentation" from the pop-up menu.
Click the green "Update From Saved View" button to pull in the changes you had made in step 4 then click OK.
Before closing the DGNlib file choose File > Save Settings and then Compress with the "Delete Building Dataset Elements" option enabled in order to remove any extra levels generated to support Drawing Views.
New Drawing Views created from this point forward should use the settings you have defined above. To change existing Drawings, navigate to your Drawing Model (or Sheet Model if that's where the Saved View is applied) and again choose the green "Update from Saved View" button to pull in those changes.
